Reveal Your Wings Launch

Reveal Your Wings, my book on how ketamine assisted therapy helped me overcome mental illness and how you can get the treatment for yourself, had a successful launch on June 20, 2023. The book was #1 on Amazon's Hot New Releases list. It also debuted in Amazon's Top 100 in the Depression Category.

You can get a copy by clicking here. If you're not the one suffering with mental illness but you know someone who does and that person matters to you, get a copy for yourself because you'll get some insight into the world of mental illness.

Thank you to my writing group Wily Writers and to my Beta Readers because it takes a team to make a book. And THANK YOU to all who bought the book.

Reveal Your Wings: Heal Your Mental Illness

This article appears in Medium.com. You can go there to read the article. Or read it here. If you're not familiar with Medium.com, I highly recommend it. They have articles on just about everything. This is my second article on that site, and it's a little less provocative than my first article, "Stripteasing for Your Readers." Both are about mental illness and mental health.

If you or someone close to you suffers with a mental illness issue, I’d like to help. I’m on a mission to quash depression, anxiety, PTSD, bi-polar, OCD, and suicidal ideation. I’m not a doctor. I’m a former mental illness sufferer. I lived it, but I don’t live with it anymore.

It’s been over a year since I underwent Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT) for own my mental illness. Before then, I suffered for over forty years with daily and debilitating depression and anxiety that affected every aspect of my life, from relationships to work. My life was filled with chronic sadness that hampered my ability to live a normal life and bad coping mechanisms that caused me a lot of problems. I tried medication, which helped to some extent, and therapy, which made me feel better but didn’t really help my depression and anxiety.

In the spring of 2022, during a regular appointment with my psychiatrist, I revealed that I was in the midst of a two-month long bout of depression. The doctor asked me if I wanted to try ketamine. I said yes without hesitation. I’ve come to learn that sometimes the best course of action is immediate. I’d heard good things about this form of treatment, and I was ready to try a new course of action. It only took two weeks and six sessions of Ketamine Infusion Therapy (KIT) to free me of a lifetime of mental illness.

Ketamine treatment had such a profound impact on me I knew right away I wanted to write a book about my experience. And that’s exactly what I did, but it’s not a memoir. What I ended up writing is a how-to book. When you have a mental illness, many tasks can seem daunting and overwhelming. The book walks a person step-by-step through the ketamine treatment process: finding a KAT provider, funding the treatment, undergoing the treatment, and what to expect after treatment. See, KAT isn’t like popping a pill to get better. KAT is also not a treatment you get. KAT is a treatment that you have to be actively involved in, on both a medical and spiritual level.

The book is called Reveal Your Wings and is currently available on Amazon. I do plan to put it on other platforms like Apple, Google, and Barnes & Noble, but that won’t be until this fall. The book’s been doing well, making Amazon’s Hot New Releases in Depression and debuting in Amazon’s Top 100 in Depression. Here’s the link: https://amzn.to/3qLnq24. You can also find more information at www.wingsnotstingspress.com. I have no qualms about promoting this book because for some people it might be a life saver. That’s not hyperbolic. I’ve lost friends and family to mental illness. I’m working to end this, or at least help as many people as I can alleviate their symptoms. Get a copy of the book for yourself, your friends, and your loved ones. You’ll learn a lot about the world of mental illness.

While KAT cured me of my mental illness, I can’t promise that it will do the same for you. That wouldn’t be ethical. The treatment does have a high efficacy rate though, but everyone’s different. I’m conscious of that. In fact, before I write or post anything about KAT, I read articles written by others who’ve done this treatment. For some people ketamine helps and for others not so much. Do I think it’s right for you? I don’t know, but I do know it’s worth trying.

If you have a mental illness, I urge you to get help. Or if you’re reading this because someone close to you suffers from mental illness, don’t ever hesitate to help them. Stop thinking your problem isn’t that serious or that it will work itself out. Neither of those are true. And if you’re reading on behalf of another, don’t say that it isn’t your business and that you should stay out of it. You will only have regrets. I know, I’ve been there.

The greatest gift we can give is helping another person live a better life. Reveal Your Wings is how I choose to help those suffering with mental illness.

I would love to have you join my reader community if you haven't. When you do, you'll get the free book Wings Not Stings, which is a method I devised and used to improve my life when I suffered with mental illness. And I still use it because, while KAT got rid of my mental illness, it didn't turn me into a perfect person.

If I currently have you on my newsletter list and you want this book, fill out the form. You won't get double newsletters and other emails from me if you use the same email address.
